Who we are:
Fairview Community Church desires to increase our spiritual and missional impact on our community in St. Catharines. Our new mission statement is “helping our community find real life in Christ”. Our church has been on a journey of transition over the past two years. We are confident that God has brought us to this point of searching for a Lead Pastor who will lead us in fulfilling this new mission.
We began as a church plant just over fifty years ago. We are a multi-generational congregation of about 130 persons. Recently we have, by a strong majority, acknowledged that our church needs to make some significant changes to how we are doing church. We are seeking a renewed focus on serving the broader community and bringing the message of a life with Christ to those in our area.
We are a member of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Who we are looking for:
The Lead Pastor of Fairview Community Church will display the skills, competencies and character needed to lead us into fulfilling our church’s mission and vision. They will be gifted in the areas of leadership and missional outreach. They will develop the areas of both evangelism and discipleship, seeking to make our church family a place of spiritual life and nurture.
We believe that for our church to fulfill our mission the Lead Pastor will need to posses the following competencies:
•Action oriented to drive our vision and purpose
•Able to build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the church
•An effective communicator
We are seeking an individual with at least five years experience in leading a congregation in health and growth.
Where we are:
The City of St. Catharines is the largest city in the Niagara Region of Southern Ontario. With a population of 133,000 residents, it is located between the Greater Toronto Area and the U.S. border.
